After seven years as an elementary teacher (grades 2-4), I decided to make the change to teach middle school math and have been loving it for the past five years! I currently teach Math 6 & 7, as well as Geometry.
I am originally from Southern California, where I graduated from Cal State University Long Beach, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a Multi-Subject Credential with a concentration in math. After teaching third grade in Southern California, my husband and I moved to Anchorage, Alaska.
In Spring 2012, I received a Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning through University of Alaska Anchorage. My concentration and thesis were both related to teaching and learning mathematics in elementary and middle school.
During my free time, I enjoy reading, running, traveling, doing yoga, and spending time with my husband in Alaska's beautiful scenery.
My husband and me at Eklutna Tailrace in December 2013. It was -5 on this chilly morning!
